Debra Lynn Ouellet, age 67, of Cedar Creek, Texas, passed away on February 2nd, 2022, in Austin, Texas.
Debbie was born in Houston, Texas to James and Joyce Wells on November 18th, 1954. She attended Tomball High School in Tomball, Texas and graduated in 1973. She joined The United States Marine Corps in 1973. It was there that she met her first husband Daniel Comfort. Together they had two children. Debbie later married Robin Ouellet in Pflugerville, Texas on January 25th, 1992. Debbie and Robin remained happily married for 30 years and have three grandchildren.
She worked as a telephone operator and a secretary at Southwestern Bell and ATT for 30 years. Later in life she served as a volunteer at St. David’s Hospital in South Austin. During her youth she was involved in the 4-H club, chess club, and played in the band. She also played the piano.
Debbie enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren. She loved getting them to help her bake cookies and cook meals during the holidays.
Debbie is survived by her husband Robin Ouellet, her son Mark Comfort and his wife Toni Comfort, her son-in-law John Gillen, her sister Jimmie Gillum, and her grandchildren Ashley Gillen, Nicholas Comfort, and Montana Comfort.
Debbie is preceded in death by her first husband Daniel Comfort and their daughter Amy Gillen. She is also preceded in death by her sister Donna Wells, and her parents James and Joyce Wells.
Funeral and Memorial Services will be held from 11am to 12pm on Saturday, March 5th, 2022, at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.
Burial services will follow on a later date and time at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
The family of Debra Lynn Ouellet wish to extend our sincere thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals who cared for her during her lifetime. A special thank you and appreciation to those that cared for her during her final days at St. David’s South Austin Hospital.
