Debra Lynn Gattis joined her mother, Joyce Gattis, and father, Buck Gattis, in heaven in the early morning of January 31, 2022. She is survived by son Christopher Roark (Meagan), grandchildren Savannah and Tanner, significant other Thomas Boyd, sisters Peggy Gattis and Becky Gattis, brother Lenard “Peanut” Gattis (Christy), nephew Gary Gattis (Jeannie), nieces Misty Miertschin (Dustin), Kandi Kamp (Tristan), Jenna Gattis, Kristen Gattis, Bree Hanna (Jeffrey), great nephews Bryan, Daeton, Bobby, Bryce and Silas, great nieces Kaylen, Shelby, Kasey, Hailey, Laynie, Kaylee, Kennedy, and Charlotte, and great-great nieces Kamrie and Gracelynn.
Debra took on her numerous roles as mother, granny, daughter, sister, and aunt with pride. She loved her family more than anything. While she had many ways to show her love, the most prominent one was feeding everyone. Her food had a way of making you feel loved because of the joy she got out of caring for you. She loved her son and continually praised the man he had become. Her grandchildren were her entire world, and she was easily their favorite person too. Like her mother, her domain was the kitchen table- this is where she taught Kandi to cook and beat Luke at cards. Debra was the mother to those who needed it. She in many ways was the center of gravity for our family. She will be missed greatly. Comfort is found knowing that she is reunited with her momma. Rest peacefully, Debra, until we meet again.
