Consuelo Pastrano Salazar

CONSUELO PASTRANO SALAZAR of Bastrop,Texas, passed away on April 30, 2023, in Kyle, Texas.

Consuelo was born in Lockhart, Texas to Jose Sixto Pastrano and Maria Inez Varela on June 2, 1932. She attended school in Lockhart up to the third grade and she spent most of her adolescent years share cropping with her family all over Texas.
She married Raymond Salazar on May 18, 1965. She had two children in 1967 and in 1968.

Consuelo worked as the co-owner of her spouse’s construction business called Foundation by Salazar Incorporated for 18 years.

She was a Catholic parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church in Austin Texas.

Consuelo enjoyed spending time vacationing in expeditions trips with her family and extend family all over Texas. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting casinos in Louisiana and going to Las Vegas to enjoy her pastime playing slots machines.

Consuelo is survived by her son, Roy Pastrano Salazar; daughter, Patricia Salazar Boutwell and husband, William; grandchildren: Alvin Lee Overman Jr. and spouse, Marion; Kimberly Nicole Overman; Jennifer Marie Rice, and spouse, Charles Allen; Alec Raymond Salazar; Marco Antonio Salazar, and Savannah Beatrice Salazar; great grandchildren: Garret Daniel Overman, Sophia Grace Overman, Brooklyn Elizabeth Overman, Olivia Elaine Overman, Stella Joann Consuela Rice, and Charles Allen Rice II.

Consuelo (“Chelo” as known by her siblings) is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Salazar and her siblings: Josefina Pastrano Ramirez, Manuela Pastrano Mayo, Lupe Pastrano, Jose Pastrano, Virginia Pastrano Herrera, Alicia Pastrano Perales, Esperanza Pastrano, and Geonvena Pastrano Martinez.
