Connie Lee (Plummer) Lehman, 84, our beautiful, kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt died after a battle with Lewy Body dementia on January 29, 2025.
Born on October 24 in Bynum, Texas, she was the youngest of two daughters of the late George and Edna Plummer. Connie went to Bynum/Hillsboro for school and was voted a class queen.
Connie met the love of her life, Daniel S. Lehman, at Rosa’s Western Club in Forth Worth the day before Valentines and spent the next 66 years together. Connie was a military spouse during the 20 years Daniel served in the Air Force and cared for the home and family. They moved numerous times and settled in Bastrop, Texas after Daniel retired from the military to be near his family.
Connie longed to be a mom and was blessed with three daughters. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She also enjoyed being an aunt and second mom to many of her nieces and nephews. Connie was also a caregiver to both her parents and other members of her family when they were in need.
While Connie loved being a mom, becoming a grandmother and great grandmother meant even more to her. She was known for making “circle peanut butter sandwiches” and lots of hugs. Her greatest joy was having all the family together for holidays.
Throughout her life, Connie was involved in both school and community events. She was active in the Bastrop High School Band Boosters, the Bastrop Sesquicentennial, community firefighter, Ladies of Charity, Meals on Wheels, serving as an aide for Mass while volunteering at the local nursing home, to name a few.
Connie was very creative and was an expert in making clothes for her daughters including many a prom or homecoming dress, making stuffed animals for the children in her life and for Ascension Catholic Church’s annual festivals and making fun desserts. Plus, she designed many of the homes she lived in and built several structures including a covered breezeway.
Connie is survived by her husband Daniel S. Lehman, children Michele (Gordon) Glaze of Manor, Texas; Cynthia (James) Nastars of Andover, Kansas; Danette Lehman of Manor, Texas; grandchildren Daniel (Ana) Glaze of Sugar Land, Texas; Patrick (Allyson) Glaze of Tyler, Texas, Adam Nastars of Wesley Chapel of Florida, Joseph Nastars of Wichita, Kansas; Christopher Nastars of Manhattan, Kansas; Sarah Nastars of Wichita, Kansas and almost 6 beloved great grandchildren: Lily, Danny, Emma, Sofia, Stephen and one on the way. Plus numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents George W. Plummer and Edna Goff and her sister Leta Mae Coslett.
Connie’s family would like to express their appreciation to staff (past and present) of New Haven Memory Care in Bastrop, Texas and Divinity Hospice. Plus, special thanks to Rosie and Bo Whitaker and Sherry Marsh-Hickman for their endless support.
