Cecil Ray Teston, 90, of Cedar Creek, Texas, passed away on January 12, 2021 at home with his wife and grandson by his side.
Cecil was born November 28, 1930 in Columbia, Mississippi to Harvey Teston and Minnie Lee Elizabeth East Teston. He graduated from the University of Houston and was a certified public accountant.
Cecil served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired accountant for the Veterans Administration and was a member of Wyldwood Baptist Church.
He married the love of his life, Tina Jean Barnwell Teston, on August 31, 1974 in Linden, Texas.
Cecil had a great love for animals. He had many dogs over his lifetime that he loved dearly and made sure that no animal that came to his door went hungry. Cecil was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening until very late in his life.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Tina Jean Barnwell Teston of Cedar Creek, Texas; a grandson, Dallas Ray Teston of Austin, Texas; 3 great-grandchildren, Christopher “CJ” Balderas, Kalli Balderas, and Carter Teston; several nieces and nephews; and 2 stray cats.
Cecil is preceded in death by his son, Richard Lynn Teston; his dear nephew Bobby Stone whom he thought of as a son; his grandson, Christopher James Teston; his parents, Harvey and Minnie Teston; 4 brothers, LaVaughn Teston, Aubrey Teston, LV Teston and Ed Teston; 3 sisters Mary “Gic” Claxton, Bonnie Capson, and Peggy Flanery; and many dogs.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
