Cecil Wayne Smith (Wayne), was born February 4, 1942 in Austin, Texas and died December 24, 2021 in Cedar Creek, Texas at the age of 79.

Wayne was born to Cecil Thomas Smith and Margaret Nell (Hoffman) Smith on February 4, 1942. He married Della Ann (Gerloff) Smith on January 6, 1986.

He worked in construction as a crane operator and was a member of the Operator’s Union. Through hard work, study, and perseverance, Wayne earned the title of Certified Safety Technician.  He worked on the project that rebuilt Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and went on from there to work on rebuilding Womack Army Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He then worked on a project in the Virgin Islands for Hess Oil Corporation.

He was a Master Mason and belonged to Colorado Lodge #96. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing, metal detecting, and raising chickens, guineas, turkeys, and white doves.  He loved the outdoors and anything that would keep him occupied outside.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Della Ann (Gerloff) Smith; sons Stephen Robert Gordon (and fiance Lisa Maloney), Richard Wayne (Scooter) Smith (and wife Christy Smith); grandchildren Amanda Catherine Smith, Elizabeth Michelle Smith (Lizzy), Oralia Hernandez, Rebekah Taylor (Gordon) Hansler, Adam Robert Gordon, Melannie Maloney; great grandchildren Zach Hansler and Cole Hansler and his cousins who were a very significant part of his life, Billie Jo Lancaster and David Rorex.
