Caitlyn Mychele Harman, 17, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2020. She was born June 6, 2002, in Bastrop, the daughter of Michael and Carmene Harman. She earned her place as a Top 10 graduate of Bastrop High School, and was headed to Texas A&M to study public health and begin her journey of becoming a Nurse. Caitlyn’s compassionate heart was felt by everyone and so was her spirit for adventure. She was a team-player and a leader. She held a varsity letter for Volleyball, was a member of the Student Council, and earned multiple awards and scholarships for college. She helped start Christian’s Closet, in honor of her brother, to provide clothes, food and supplies to any student in need. She was beautiful inside and out. Caitlyn cherished her friends and family and will live on in them. Caitlyn is survived by her parents, Michael and Carmene, and her brother, Casey. She also leaves her maternal grandmother, Jimmie Casey, and her paternal grandparents, Frank and Rachel Juarez, all of Bastrop. Caitlyn will be forever in the hearts of her aunts, uncles and cousins: Kim Casey of Tampa, Florida, Kevin Casey of Brooklyn, New York, Charlie and Mychele Chapin of Bastrop, Nathan Aman of Tampa, Florida, and Bryce and Bailey Chapin of Bastrop, Texas. The path to Caitlyn’s next adventure has already been paved by her maternal grandfather, Tommy “Grumps” Casey and her big brother, Christian Harman. They are there to lead the way. Funeral arrangements are being held at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life continuing until 1:30 pm at Bastrop High School. Lunch will be provided at the Bastrop High School cafeteria beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent in Caitlyn’s honor to Christian’s Closet at Bastrop High School or Bastrop High School Memorial Scholarship Fund.
