Bessie V. McFarlin passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

Bessie McFarlin was born March 26, 1938 in Bastrop, Texas to Madie and Calvin Williams.

She attended Bastrop public schools, and at an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior at New Hope Baptist Church. Bessie was then married to Jesse McFarlin in Austin Texas.

She worked as a custodian for the University of Texas for 30 years before she retired. Bessie was an Usher member at Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church.

A few of her hobbies were crossword puzzles, bulk shopping, dancing, fancy dining and traveling.

She leaves to cherish her loving  memories, children: Glenn Alexander; Sheila Alexander-McKinley and husband, John Mckinley; Trent Manor, Daron Manor, Rebecca Gale Manor, Leon Manor and Kerry Manor;  sisters: Rosie Williams and Ruth Washington; 30 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren as well as numerous great  great grandchildren.

Bessie is preceded in death by her sisters: Margie N.  Pillot and Edie Mae Lias; brothers: James Payne, Calvin Williams, Otis Williams, Isaiah Williams; sons: J.C. Alexander, Clintonia Alexander and Soron Manor; grandsons: Daron Manor, Alex Hudson, and Glenn Alexander Jr.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 with a viewing from 11:00 am – 2:00 p.m. and Funeral Services beginning at 2.pm. at   Bastrop Providence, 2079 Hwy 71 E, Bastrop, Texas 78602.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church as well as all her Doctors and nurses that cared for her.
