Arnold Frank Malota, Jr., a beloved figure whose laughter and stories echoed through the hearts of his family, departed this world on February 18, 2025, in Smithville, Texas, leaving behind numerous vibrant memories woven with joy, love, and the spirit of camaraderie. Born on September 2, 1950, Arnold was a man who truly embraced life in all its flavors, most notably as a traveling candy salesman before dedicating over 25 years to Cintas, where he was not just an employee but a valued engineer whose spirit contributed to the fabric of the workplace. His work ethic was unmatched and he would go into work at all times of the night and day, no matter the weather conditions.
His fondness for family gatherings was palpable; it was at these moments he thrived, surrounded by his cherished kin. Deeply loved by his grandchildren – William, Ellis, and Emma and her husband Eli – he earned the affectionate title of "Papa." With a heart brimming with love, his legacy further expanded with the arrival of his great granddaughter, Lili, who delightedly called him "Great Papa." Such titles were not mere labels; they embodied bonds, each laced with care and affection that transcended generations.
From the splendor of holiday feasts to the simplicity of summer BBQs sizzling away with his family in the country, Arnold's presence brought joy and harmony to every occasion. An avid gun collector and enthusiastic hunter, he embraced the great outdoors, finding solace in nature's embrace. His work shed became a retreat, a sanctuary where creativity unfurled and dreams were born.
Arnold's family memories are adorned with the love of his first wife, Linda, who shared many chapters of his life. They stand in the shadows of a remarkable man's journey, alongside those who left this world before him – his beloved second wife, Jacky, daughter Jenna, and his steadfast parents, Arnold Sr. and Wilma.
He is lovingly remembered by his son Chris and wife Sandy, and daughter Jarren and husband Pete, who joined in the celebration of family life. His grandchildren, William, Ellis, and Emma, together with Emma’s husband Eli and daughter Lili, will carry forward the warmth and kindness that their Papa instilled in them. The echoes of his laughter will forever reverberate in their hearts.
Also sharing in the memories are his siblings, Carolyn Hooker of Cat Springs, Clarence Malota and wife Patricia of Muldoon, Robert Malota of Elk Creek, Missouri, Bernard Malota and wife Sylvia of Edinburg, David Malota and wife Lisa of Colbert, Georgia, Albina Causey and husband Tommy of Muldoon, Patti Barker and husband Darrell of Sonora, and numerous nieces and nephews, all that adored him very much.
A memorial service to celebrate Arnold's life will be held at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home on February 26, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM. Together, let us gather to honor a man who understood the essence of family, the joy of friendships, and the beauty of a well-tended life.
