Amparo Barrientos Fernandez. 78, of Del Valle, Tx, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 13, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Amparo was born in Piedras Negra, MX to Cornelio Barrientos and Josefina Galvan on April 23, 1945. She married her best friend and the love of her life Erineo Fernandez Sr. on May 23, 1965.

Amparo was very family oriented. When it came to her family no matter the event she jumped into action and helped with her passion of sewing or knitting. Making custom gifts or even all the decorations for the family. She was an amazing chef!! No one ever left her house hungry, she always made a plate the moment you walked in. You said “Hi” and she said, “have you eaten?”

Amparo always helped others any way she can big or small. She made sure all her kids were raised with the same love and values she shared.

Amparo is survived by husband Erineo Fernandez Sr., children: Fernando Fernandez and wife Gloria, Piedad Alfaro and husband Mauricio, Jaime Fernandez, Norma Fernandez, Jaime Brianna Fernandez, and Irene Hernandez. Grandchildren: Jacy Milicia Fernandez, Fernando Fernandez Jr, Mauricio Alfaro Jr., Mercie Fernandez, Nathalia Fernandez, Noel Alfaro, Raul Fernandez, Jacqueline Alfaro Ugarte, Piedad Fling, Angel Fernandez, Jasmine Alfaro, Maria de la Luz Fling and many great grandchildren.

The Fernandez family would like to say Thank You to Compassus Caregivers – Nurses Fifi and Christian. We can’t thank you enough for the love and passion you showed our Amparo.

While our family grieves, we will forever be blessed to have been born to / loved by / and known one of the most amazing woman to have ever walk this earth. We welcome friends and family to send Amparo Fernandez to the next chapter in life.

Visitation will be held on Monday March 18, 2024 from 5pm – 8pm at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 19, 2024 at 10:30am at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery at 1465 SH-21 Cedar Creek, Tx 78612.
