Amelia Guzman Tijerina

Amelia Guzman Tijerina, 84, gently passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 4, 2018.  Amelia was born to parents, Casimiro Guzman and Julia Vega Guzman in Austin, Texas on March 18, 1934. She was married to the late Vicente Tijerina Jr. for 66 years and spoiled him with her amazing tamales. To Amelia cooking for her family and friends was gift of love, and she showered her 11 children, 46 grandchildren, 122 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren with her delicious food. Her friends and neighbors were accepted as family and shared in the love as well.  Amelia became known in the area for her amazing tamales and went on to open 3 different restaurants over the years. She will be greatly missed by us all.

Visitation 9:00 am Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life 10:00 am Thursday, November 8, 2018 in the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow service at Alta Vista Cemetery.
