Carl Edward Davis

Carl E. Davis, 71, of Cedar Creek, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Bastrop. Memorial celebration of Life services are scheduled for 11 AM, Monday October 11, 2010 at the Wildwood Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Swartz officiating. Carl was born November 29, 1938 in Coryell County, Texas to the late Loyce and Louise (Jolley) Davis. He graduated from, Corsicana High School in 1957 and was a graduate of Howard Payne University in 1964. Carl was a teacher and a coach for 37 years beginning his career in Goldwaithe. He was employed by other schools throughout Texas and retired in 1998 from Bastrop High School. Carl was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and served as Deacon for the past 5 years. He was a loving husband, father, teacher and coach. Carl is also preceded in death by a brother, John Davis. Carl is survived by his wife, Reba Davis and sons Joel Davis of Cedar Creek and Josh Davis of Portland, OR, a brother, Manning Davis and wife Martha of Cisco, TX, and a sister, Darla Roberson and husband Jack of Lake Whitney. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wildwood Baptist Church, Cedar Creek, TX. Cremation services under the direction of Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, Bastrop, TX
