Mary Aleen Goehring Walz, 90 of Bastrop, died Friday, July 23, 2010 in Austin, Texas Visitation will be 6PM to 8PM Tuesday, July 27th at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 11AM Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Mary Walz was born April 10, 1920 in Runge, TX to the late Robert and Lillian (Rum) Goehring. She was raised in Yorktown, TX and attended a business school and a court reporting school in San Antonio. For 28 years she worked for Capital National Bank in Austin. Mary then began working for the Internal Revenue Service and retired with 30 years of service. Mary is survived by her children, Beverly Noah and husband Larry of Jacksonville, FL, Joyce Burrow and husband Buddy of Cedar Creek, David Walz of Austin and Donald Walz and wife Georgia of Grapevine, TX, grandchildren: Greg Noah, Shelly Hollander and husband Mark, Matt Burrow, Shane Burrow, Katie Walz, Kevin McKenna, John Walz, Amy Walz and Megan Cottrell, great-grandchildren: Addison Hollander, Colten Burrow, Elayna Burrow, Nikki Burrow and Kaitlyn Cottrell and sister-in-law, Nora Griffith.
