R. B. (Bob) Parnell

R. B. (Bob) Parnell, Jr was born on December 4th, 1930 in Johnsville, TX and passed away on May 24th, 2010 while residing in Bastrop, TX. He is survived by three sons: Mike Parnell (Cypress, TX), David Parnell (Bastrop, TX), and Daniel Parnell (Laguna Beach, CA) and their families. One son, Jack, preceded him in death. Mr. Parnell was blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grand children. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant while serving in the Air Force. His tours of duty included Europe, Japan, and Korea, where he was recognized for bravery in battle. Upon retiring from the military, he joined John Hancock Insurance Company and worked as a marketing representative and staff manager. He retired with 20 years of distinguished service from John Hancock. A gun enthusiast throughout his life, Mr. Parnell was a marksmen and avid hunter. A devout Baptist, he attend South Oaks Baptist Church while living in Arlington and Calvary Baptist Church while living in Bastrop. Funeral services for Mr. Parnell were held at Calvary Baptist Church in Bastrop, TX on Thursday, May 27th and at South Oaks Baptist in Arlington, TX on Friday, May 28th.
