MARY ANN CHALMERS HOLT Mary Ann Chalmers Holt of Bastrop passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 13, 2010 with loved ones at her side. She was born in Bastrop County, Texas to Thomas Calhoun and Rosa Buniva Chalmers on October 20, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard E. “Dick” Chalmers; and granddaughter, Austin Kimberly Holt. Mary Ann was a graduate of Bastrop High School where she lettered in tennis and softball and was a majorette in the drum and bugle corps. She attended the University of Texas where she met and married her husband of 61 years, Hermon F. Holt. She is survived by: her husband; three sons, Thomas F. and wife Lona, Robert C., Paul J. and wife Janet; four grandsons, Chris, Michael, George, and Allen Holt; a granddaughter, Ambra Swan Pickett; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas C. Chalmers, Jr.; and nephews, Steve and Mark Chalmers. Mary Ann was a member of Bastrop Christian Church where a memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2010.
