Raymond Bruce Ward passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones on June 11, 2017 in Bastrop, TX. He was 75.
Bruce was born on July 29, 1941 in Wilmington NC to his parents, Robert and Lois Ward. In 1976, he married the love of his life, Nenita Ward. Together they raised three sons.
He was a United States Navy veteran and after proudly serving his country, he worked at the Library of Congress. He also served as a volunteer in Odessa, TX for the Fire Department and he was the first male auxiliary volunteer at Medical Center Hospital for more than 20 years.
Bruce had a passion for cooking and gardening. He was a certified Texas Master Gardener and member of the Lost Pines Garden Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Nenita; sons, Delfin, Shem, and Raymond; grandchildren, Domenico, Giovanna, and Alessandra; and his brothers, George and Michael.
Funeral services will be held 11am on Friday, June 16th at Calvary Episcopal Church, 603 Spring St, Bastrop, TX 78602. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1307 TX-95, Bastrop, TX 78602, with a reception afterwards at Calvary Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall.
