David Lynn Matejowsky

June 29, 1945 — March 12, 2017

David Matejowsky, long time area pharmacist, lost his life to cancer on Sunday, March 12, 2017. David's life came to an end quietly and peacefully at his home with loved ones. David was born on June 29, 1945 in Odessa, TX. His entire childhood was spent in Odessa there he graduated from Odessa High School in 1963. He then attended Texas Tech for three years before transferring to the University of Texas to enter pharmacy school. In 1967 He graduated from Pharmacy School at the University of Texas. After college, David married his longtime sweetheart, Carolyn Young, in August of 1967. After graduation they lived in Kerrville, Midland and then Bastrop. David was a pharmacist and worked at Walmart, Walgreens, Brookshire Brothers and then returned to Walmart to end his career as a pharmacist. David enjoyed life to the fullest whether it was playing golf, traveling or visiting with family and friends. David managed to bring a smile or laughter to everyone when he was around. However, nothing gave him more pride and laughter then his children and his beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, two daughters, their husbands and four grandchildren. His daughters are Melissa Hanna, husband Pat, children Tanner and Aubrie Hanna. And, daughter Angela King, husband Patrick, children Zach and Cody. David will be missed, but his zest for life and laughter will be carried on by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home Chapel.
