J. Scott Klanke “Scotty”, age 86, of Smithville, Texas went to heaven, Tuesday, August 23, 2016. He was born November 26, 1929 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Charles and Jane Klanke. As a child he moved from Oklahoma to Texas where he had a flourishing career as a printer and multi colored press operator in Houston, Texas for 40 years, before retiring in Smithville, Texas. Scotty was an active member at his place of worship, Grace Baptist Church, where he served on the treasury and food pantry. Some of his favorite past times were grabbing coffee or lunch with close friends and enjoying Christmas Eve with all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Scotty is survived by three children Karl J. Klanke, Michael D. Klanke and Nancy G. Gregory, including many Grandchildren Jesse Klanke, Stephanie Dick, Skat’I Roquemore, Nicole Palomo, Alexandria “Lexie” Klanke, Patrick Gregory, Amanda Salazar, Phillip Farley, Jennifer Jones, Amie Streater and Destinee Macdarmid. As well as many great grandchildren Addyson and Emma Klanke, Becham and Bentley Roquemore, Katrina and Hannah Palomo, Alexandria Figueroa, Candice Chapman, Mykayla Dick and Joseph Salazar Jr. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Charles and three children Richard Scott, Kenneth Paul and Christine Klanke. Scott was full of joy, always smiling and laughing. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held on August 27, 2016 for all family and friends at Grace Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., following the service the wake will be held on the church premises. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in honor of J. Scott Klanke to the Grace Baptist Church Food Pantry.
