Carroll Ann Connor

July 21, 1940 — July 14, 2016

Carroll Ann Connor, native Texan of 76 years old, lives on in purgatory after a relentless fight with 3 different forms of cancer, heart disease, and her most recent battle with Parkinson’s. Her journey began in a small town in East Texas named Terrell. She went on to establish residence in and provide a wealth of guidance and knowledge to her family, friends, and colleagues in Indiana, Dallas, Tyler, Port Isabel, and Bastrop to name a few. In her youth, she worked in her father’s rose fields better known for their appeal as “Tyler Roses.” While educated at TCU and UT Austin, she served as a violinist in the Texas State Symphony and enjoyed leisure time as an artist and beatnik. After her academic career, she moved on to be as an accomplished home-maker, real estate agent, Psychiatric Nurse (RN) Lead at Rusk State Hospital’s “Sky View” unit, and gardener. While in Bastrop, the Connor’s were greatly impacted by the fires in 2011. Bob and Carroll re-established a residence West of the Colorado river. While living comfortably at Rainbow Ridge, just outside of Elgin, Texas, Carroll decided on July 14th 2016, that she would finalize the impact of the health issues and move on to a better life. Carroll’s family includes husband Bob Connor, sons’ Phil, John and Wife Katherine mother of grand daughters’ Emma and Erin. Carroll was a contributor not only to her loving family as a successful wife and mother, but also ¬¬¬to the Church of Christ, the State of Texas psychiatric division, and various other philanthropic causes. Eternally, Carroll continues to be a devoted servant of God and wishes for all of us to follow in her unparalleled footsteps. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Heart of Texas Church of Christ, 711 Spring St, Bastrop, Texas. I lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church.
