J.A. Bush, 85, of Bastrop, Texas died peacefully in his home on July 9, 2016. He was born in Haskell County, Texas on January 21, 1931. He was the youngest of seven children born to Palemon Earnest and Trudie (Dugan) Bush. He was preceded in death by his parents and all six siblings.
J.A. married Nadine “Dean” Solomon in 1952, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together until her passing in 2007. J.A. served in Korea in the U.S. Army, and returned home to farm and gin cotton in the Texas Panhandle. He was a “Master Tinkerer” with an inquisitive mind and a dry sense of humor. J.A. was a humble man and he was very strong in his Christian faith.
He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy Bush and wife Troyanne, and Timmy and Brenda Bush, who all reside in Bastrop; grandchildren Renae Heathman of Bastrop, Christi and husband Patrick Anderson of Buda, TX, and Leanne and husband Douglas Hamilton of Lakeway, TX; great-grandchildren Garrett and Cheyenne Heathman of Bastrop, Grant and Savana Anderson of Buda, and Eston and Evan Hamilton of Lakeway; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Highway 71 East. A service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Providence Chapel, with interment following at Fairview Cemetery.
