Betty was raised working hard on a farm growing cotton, corn and milo in Converse, Texas. She often told stories of hand picking crops with a tow sack. The family farm had no running water until 1990.
Betty went to work for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator right out of high school in 1954 and retired after 35 years of service in 1988.
She met her husband, Joe “Sonny” Morkovsky, at a dancehall and they married in October of 1955. They raised 3 sons: Nathan, Gary and Ronnie. The family enjoyed fishing and working on the farm raising cattle, pigs and hay. After retirement, Betty enjoyed bowling, gardening and was a passionate Texas Longhorn football fan. She will be deeply missed.
