Shirley Marie Ellis-Metzler

Shirley Marie Ellis-Metzler, age 61 of Bastrop passed away January 29, 2016. Shirley was born December 23, 1954 in Houston, Texas to George Dewey Fulton Jr. and Berneice Estele Davis. She studied at the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in business, she then became a Job Recruiter with several companies including Brown and Root and KBR, Inc. She was the top recruiter for several years in Houston. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin Ellis; and nephew Joshua P. Easley. She is survived by sons Jason Orion and Melissa Ellis, Michael Phillip and Lindsey Ellis, and Mark Steven and Nickie Metzler; sister Teresa Lynn and Phil Centers; brother George Dewey and Nicole Fulton; grandchildren Eden Ellis, Taylor Orion Ellis Castillo, Chayse Fulton Ellis, Rylie S. Metzler, Madison Marie Metzler, and Ashton Denton Metzler; nephews Christopher J. and Desiree Easley, Quentin Paul Freeman Jr., Blake E. Centers, Jordan J. and Victoria Centers, and Zachry D. Fulton; nieces Amanda Fulton Smith and Johanna Easley; great nieces Ainsley Easley, Sophie J. Centers, and Kaitlyn and Chelsey Smith; and great nephew Justin P Easley. She had so many family and friends who loved her. She touched so many and she had a heart of Gold. She will be greatly missed. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602.
