Memorial Services for Donald Joe Mikeska, 68, of
Red Rock will be 2 p.m. Friday at Seaton Brethren Church, 12561 State Hwy. 53, Temple with Rev.Denise Mikeska officiating.
Mr. Mikeska died Sunday Jan. 24 in Red Rock near his home. He was born June 16, 1947, to William E. and Annie Mikeska. He graduated from Temple High School and received an associate’s degree from
Temple Junior College. He served as a paratrooper in the Army National Guard and was a member of the SPJST. He was in charge of offshore Engineering operations for VF Corp and Fruit of the
Loom in Mexico, Honduras and Dominican Republic. He married Carolyn Jarma and lived in Temple, Hewitt, Mission and moved to the Red Rock community after retirement. Since moving to Red Rock, he was well known for growing and marketing high quality organic produce in Bastrop.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Mikeska; one daughter Sheila Mikeska of Kansas; one son James Mikeska and wife Lori of Buda; and five Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to the charity of your choice, or Bastrop Animal Shelter.
