Eva Mae Phillips

Eva Mae Phillips, age 90 of Bastrop, Texas passed away March 29, 2015. Eva was born June 17, 1924 in Albion, Indiana to LeRoy and Addie Johnson. She was a Music Teacher and was preparing to be a violinist for the Houston Symphony when her first child was born. She set the symphony aside to be a Mother. She played the piano and organ for various churches. Eva’s husband of 55 years Herb Phillips passed away on December 11, 2001. She is survived by her children Herbert L. Phillips (Marvel), Eva Phillips Sander (Dwaine), and Ralph E. Phillips (Lauda); grandchildren David Phillips, Dennis Phillips (Sherry), Edwin H. Sander, Lauda L. Sander Beightol (Phillip), Angela Phillips, and Gregory Phillips; and great-grandchildren Austin Phillips and Edwin W. Sander. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday April 1, 2015. Celebration of Life Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Bastrop Providence Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
