Charles Edward Payne

Charles Edward Payne 82 of Cedar Creek, TX passed away March 21, 2015. Charles was born September 10, 1932 in Whitestone, GA. He was married to Barbara Jean Payne for 40 years; she preceded him in death in 1992. Charles was retired from 20 years of service in the U.S. Airforce. He also retired from the U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Policy Department. Charles was a member of Ascension Catholic Church where he served as a Euchristic Minister for many years. He is preceded in death by one brother Eugene Payne; and son Russell Anthony Payne. Charles is survived by his children Beverly and Chris Iverson of Houston, Texas, Steven and Kathy Payne of Paige, Texas, and Robert and Suellen Payne of Bastrop, Texas; 8 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; brothers Bill, Herman, and Roger Dale; sisters Penny, Marie, and Gina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Friday, March 27, 2015 at Ascension Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
