Shirley Ann Wilhelm

Shirley Ann Kuehn Wilhelm died one day after her 77th birthday. She was born in Smithville, Texas on January 24, 1938 to Rudolph and Ella Kuehn. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, baking and family get-togethers. Thirteen years ago she was diagnosed with cancer and remained optimistic throughout the whole ordeal. Never complaining she just kept going and even volunteered to participate in studies for cancer research at MD Anderson. She was County Clerk in Bastrop County from 1987 until her retirement in 2001. Preceding her in death was her loving husband Monroe Wilhelm and her son Scott Wilhelm. She will be sorely missed by her three daughters and their husbands, Julie and Donald Barron, Pamela and Ralph Swearingen, and Jennifer and Greg Vinklarek, Her grandchildren Adam his wife Andia, Bret, Cameron and Dane Barron, Sara and husband Jason Peterson, Seth Swearingen and fiancé Carolyn Clay and daughter Jessa, Andrew and fiancé Brittany Muehr, Ariel and fiancé Reagan Kunz, and Amanda Vinklarek, and sister Bonnie Driver, along with numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bastrop County Relay for Life, Bastrop County Food Bank or Bastrop Ladies of Charity. The family will receive visitors at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Highway 71 East in Bastrop, Tuesday, Jan. 27 between 4:30– 6:30, followed by a Rosary at Ascension Catholic Church, 800 Pine St. Bastrop. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 28, 10:00 at Ascension Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rockne.
