Anna L. Irwin

March 23, 1930 — January 8, 2015

Anna Leah Irwin, “Mama Leah” was called home Thursday January 8th, 2015. She was born March 23, 1930 in Mission, TX to Alton Corlew and Robbie Word. She is survived by her three children: Richard Alton Turner, Charles Albert Irwin III, and Julie Ann Irwin. Her grandchildren: Richard Turner, Angela Schultz, Dustyn Gulledge, Julia Irwin, Chelsea Irwin, Carrie-Anna Irwin. Her great-grandchildren: Savannah, Tennessee, Landon, Phoenix, Montana, Kenneth, Alex, Trace, Cy, Taylor, Caitly, and Alabama. Family came first to Mama Leah…Considering the size, there wasn’t a whole lot of choice in the matter. We feel fortunate to have had many years to have been a part of her laughter, her individuality, her friendship, her loyalty and her sense of humor. We find we think we are prepared. We do. We think moments like these, death, will be easier if it happens slowly and never quickly. Perhaps that’s true---but the world definitely feels a little different without you in it, Mama Leah. Even after 84 years, it still seems just a little too soon to say goodbye. In the clouds you will rest. Or raise hell. Probably both. Either way, we will see you soon and celebrate your life until then Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:30 P.M. Monday, January 12, 2015, Bastrop Providence Chapel.
