Dan Sawicki

Mrs Dan Sawicki (nee Whisenant) died Tuesday, December 2nd in Bastrop, Texas. Dan was born in 1918 in Ranger, Tx as part of a large farm family. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and met her husband, Phil (Felix James Sawicki) in 1945 just after WWII. Married in 1946, Dan and Phil had three son and were married for 41 years. Phil was a sea captain and saved up to retire to a ranch in Bastrop which Dan ran for several years. Dan was also a teaching assistant and real estate agent. Her boys grew up in Bastrop and all went to college. Phil passed away in 1988. Dan spent her retirement years traveling and working in retail in various shops in Bastrop. Dan is survived by her three sons, Felix (Eve), Richard, Gary (Debbie) and two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Sawicki and Felix Matthew Sawicki. Jennifer is a Navy officer currently deployed in Okinawa and Matthew is an Army infantryman,married to Victoria and stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington state. The memorial service is Saturday, December 6th at 10 am at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East in Bastrop, followed by a graveside farewell and a reception.
