Roger Edward Wisdom Sr.

Roger Edward Wisdom Sr., 65, of Rosanky, passed away September 2, 2014 in Kyle, TX. Roger was born in Mercedes, TX. to Calon and Doris Wisdom on Dec. 14, 1948. He was a 1966 graduate of La Feria High School and went on to work for Gorges Meat Service in Harlingen, TX. for 21 years. He and his wife Carolyn went on to own the La Feria Flower Shop from 1997 to 2001. He worked at The Home Depot in Victoria and Bastrop, TX. and at the time of his death was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service. Roger was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He welcomed everyone with a beautiful smile and was loved by all who knew him. His Christian faith was unwavering and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church La Feria, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents C.H. and Doris Wisdom. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his brothers, Perry John Wisdom (Linda) of Edna, TX. and James Lee Wisdom (Sylvia) of La Feria, TX.; devoted wife of 44 years Carolyn Diane Wisdom of Rosanky, TX.; children Meg Baker (Paul) of Bedford, TX., Valerie Lamb (Darren) of Round Rock, TX., and Roger Wisdom Jr. of Rosanky, TX.; grandchildren Shelby, Calon, Cade and Cooper as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosanky Cemetery.
