Travis Dalton White

Travis Dalton White passed away unexpectedly from coronary artery disease on August 31st, 2014. He was born on May 5th, 1978 in Houston, Texas and relocated to Bastrop as a child. He graduated from Bastrop High School and attended Southwest Texas University. He became a Galveston islander upon his marriage to his best friend and wife Martha. Travis is survived by his wife Martha Thompson White, daughters Kinley Taylor White and Makenna Rai White; parents Pamela and Larry White and Brother Carter and wife Niki White of Bastrop; and Grandmother Fredia Egger. Extended family includes Aunt Sherry and Uncle Jack McDermott, cousin Jodi McDermott; Uncles Gordie White (Cheryl), Richard White (Carolyn), Michael White (Sarah); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mary and Gordie Lee White and his maternal grandfather Marvin Egger. Travis was an exceptional husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He reveled in the pursuit of outdoor sports such as motocross, surfing, water skiing and running. Travis had an innate ability to become a close friend and ally with anybody worth their salt within minutes of meeting them and developed lifelong relationships with people that will forever share his memory. His love of life and infectious happiness will forever be a testament to his character and legacy. Travis was an incredibly accomplished fire protection technician that ensured the safety of countless persons through his diligence in his profession. Travis held many certification and licenses and was employed by Advantage Interests, a premier fire protection company. Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home Thursday, September 4th, 2014 from 5-8 PM and services will be held Friday, September 5th, 2014 beginning at 2 PM. There will be a celebration of Travis’ life in Galveston, Texas on September 13th, 2014. Details will be provided upon request. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Travis White Children’s Education Fund through David Rogers at Edward Jones Investments, 6710 Stewart Rd., Ste. 201, Galveston, Texas 77551.
