Terry Dean Jackson

Terry Jackson, 68, of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was born to the late Junior and Ruby Jackson on April 25, 1945, in Olney, Texas. Terry married Kay Hefner in 1968, and they lived together in Watterson. Terry and Kay owned and operated Jackson Gulf/Chevron for many years. Terry served four years active military duty in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Hills Prairie Baptist Church and the Mina Masonic Lodge of Bastrop and many other charitable organizations in Bastrop County. Terry was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He and his wife took many trips with family and friends over the years. He also had a great love for animals, of which many shared his life. Terry is survived by his wife Kay Hefner Jackson, his sister-in-law and husband, Shelley and Ricky Glasgow, and a niece, Chancey Glasgow, who was his pride and joy. He is preceded in death by his dear mother-in-law, Doris Hefner. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home located at 2079 Highway 71 East. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. also at Providence Funeral Home. Burial services will follow at Watterson Cemetery.
