Helen Christene Kessel, 91 of Bastrop died May 5, 2013. She was born on March 13, 1922, in Springtown, TX to Alfred and Elizabeth Petterson. She is survived by her son Terry, and daughter-in-law Barbara Kessel of Bastrop, daughter Emily, and son-in-law John McPhaul of Bastrop; 8 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Monroe Kessel, son Gary Kessel, and daughter Linda Williams. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 8, 2013; Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, Bastrop, TX. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
