Frank Gale Shelton, beloved husband and grandfather, passed away on December 21, 2012. He was 73 years old. Frank was born April 25, 1939 in Ironton, Missouri to the late Frank Burton Shelton and Leta Ellen Tullock Shelton Irby. He was a pipefitter-welder by trade and a member of the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #142 of San Antonio, Texas. He had previously been a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union #790 of Victoria, Texas and Pipefitters Local Union #211 of Houston, Texas before transferring membership to Local Unit #142. He had been a member of Laborers International Union of North America Local Union #916 of Farmington, Missouri for a number of years. He was a member of the Monitou Lodge #68 AF&AM of Manitou Springs, Colorado. He attended Lee College in Baytown, Texas and Served in the US Air Force from 1956-1966. He was a Baptist.
His loving wife, Norma survives him. They were married on March 11, 1993 in Houston, Texas. He is also survived by a daughter, Germaine Shelton Myers of Port Lavaca, Texas, son, Frank G. Shelton Jr., stepson, Robert E. Mayfield and wife Ann of Richardson, Texas, sister, Dorothy Marie Maserang of Park Hills, Missouri, 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild, 3 Step Grandchildren, and 1 Step Great-Granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Jean, sister, Ann Buck Shelton, and half brother, Robert Earl Irby.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2013, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home.
