Christopher Lee Roffol, 51 died April 18, 2012, with his family by his side in Austin, Texas.
A funeral service is Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.
He was born October 2, 1960, in Peoria, Illinois to James and Libby Roffol. He moved to Texas in 1980.
Christopher worked as a store manager for the Austin Shoe Hospital and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he met his future wife, Monica, who was attending The University of Texas.
Chris moved to Bastrop, Texas in 1994 and began working as a specialist technician for Samsung Austin Semiconductor in 2000
He was diagnosed with myoepithelial carcinoma in 2008and participated in numerous experimental treatments at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas.
He was an avid fisherman until his cancer progressed and was an amateur astronomer with the Austin Astronomical Society for several years.
His interests included family, gardening, fishing, boating, and sky watching. He devoted much of his time and energy to his family and pets.
Mr. Roffol is survived by his wife, Monica (Rivera) Roffol; mother, Libby Roffol of East Peoria, Illinois; sister, Connie Roffol of Colchester, Illinois; brother, Sean Roffol of Kentucky; and a son, Justin Roffol of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Roffol.
