Jerold "Jerry" Wernsman

Jerold Dean Wernsman, 69, of Bastrop passed away on Friday, June 17th, 2011 at his home. Born September 6th, 1941 in San Diego, California, son of Nora H. Aust. Jerry graduated from San Dieguito High School in Encinitas, Ca. Jerry went to Palomar College from 1961 to 1962. Jerry actively served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Coontz, May 16th, 1962 - 1966. Jerry was a radio man 3rd class. Jerry retired from BioCrest Manufacturing in Cedar Creek, Texas. Jerry was avid at crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and a good episode of Judge Judy. Jerry was willing to engage or entertain one in political conversations. He had an interest in researching Bible history with friends and relatives. Jerry is survived by his mother, Nora H. Aust, from Del Mar, Ca., sons Robert and Matthew Wernsman of Vista, Ca., younger brother Charles William Wernsman of Del Mar, Ca., and several nephews, aunts,and uncles. The family will receive guests at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, June 22, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
