Kacey James Hendrix

Kacey James Hendrix, age 12, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was born on April 26, 1999. Known for his smiling face and warm personality, Kacey was fond of baseball, hunting and fishing, building projects with his father, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Teachers, friends and all who knew him remember Kacey for his warm, caring, and loving personality. Kacey never met a stranger, and he would strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Kacey was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, E.L. Fohn and Verlin Hendrix, and his great-grandmother Martha Biehle. Kacey is survived by his parents, Chad and Sandy Hendrix of Cedar Creek; a brother, Bryan Hendrix; grandparents, Larry and Janet Hendrix and Alma and Martin Kilian; great-grandmothers Ruby Fohn and Ruby Hendrix; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness during this difficult time. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a wake at Sacred Heart Church, Rockne on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Rockne, with interment following at Hendrix Cemetery, near Rockne. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Rockne Team for the Cancer Relay for Life or to the Gene Harris Heart Pump Fund at First National Bank of Bastrop.
