Norman Scott Holman

Norman Scott Holman, 68, of Bastrop passed away, February 25, 2011. He was born in Sweetwater, Texas on December 12, 1942 to William “Scottie” and Evelyn (Cathey) Holman. In the US Navy he was in the nuclear power training program and was assigned to nuclear submarines. He also served aboard the USS Rankin from 1969 to 1971. After the navy, Norman was an Electrician by trade (IBEW Local 520). On July 12, 1967, he married Karen (Hancock) Holman of Conroe. Their love and devotion is an inspiration to us all. He is survived by his wife, his brother Richard Holman and his wife Marie of Granite Shoals; his children, Michelle (Holman) Dowell and her husband Richard of Bastrop; Tonia (Holman) Bui and her husband Todd of  Austin; Brenda Holman of Lubbock; his grandchildren Ashley, Aspen, and Gabriel Dowell and Brooke Evelyn Bui; his beloved nieces and nephews and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn Holman. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Austin, 1601 Pecan St., Pflugerville, TX 78660, on March 5, 2011 at 1:00pm.
